And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
Philippians 1:9 NIV
Meditation is going over the same thought over and over so the ground becomes well worn and shapes the landscape of your character and how you view God, the people and circumstances in your life and prepares you to anticipate good or bad things in your future.
There is a German Shepherd down the street from our house. He is very well trained to stay in his yard but he has worried a path beside the curb into a rut of dirt where nothing grows. From his path he will not stray but that doesn’t stop him from yelling out at every passer by.
I want to be like that dog when it comes to thinking on the lessons God is teaching me through His Word. I want to see all my circumstances and the people that pass by from inside my path. I want my path to my Father’s secret place to be well worn and His lessons of love and wisdom and warfare to define me. Then I can be free, secure, hope filled, and joyously anticipate God’s fantastic plan to work out in my life.
